The next Lambda Lounge is Thursday and there will be two great talks that should not be missed. First, Tom Wheeler will present on Apache Crunch, which is a library for running MapReduce pipelines on top of Hadoop. Then, Mark Volkmann will present a talk called ES6: Too Much Goodness to Wait, in which you will be convinced that the future of JavaScript will make up for all the things that anyone ever complained about the language. Cloudera will sponsor food (probably pizza from Fortel’s).

As usual, feel free to bring a beverage of your choice. Also, if you would like to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to Circle of Concern, it will be delivered after the meeting.

Doors open at 6. Hope to see you there!

The next Lambda Lounge is this Thursday and it includes two talks that might change your mind about everything. In the first talk, Steven Lembark will present Multiplying Ethiopians: Lambdas, Lazyness, & Perl6. Expect minds to be blown. For any left in tact, Mario Aquino will present a Frankenstein monster called (mashup Prisoners-Dilemma Game-of-Life) (hint: parentheses means Clojure), in which a beautiful mathematical model will be tinkered with for the purpose of confirming that evolution is a thing. There, I said it.

Delicious sushi will be sponsored by Climate Corp.

Please bring a delicious beverage of your choosing. If you would like to also bring a non-perishable food donation, it will be delivered to Circle of Concern after the meeting. Also, help grow the group by bringing a friend to the meeting. Doors open at 6.
