Functional, Dynamic Language Love-Fest

Posted: July 30, 2013 by marioeaquino in Uncategorized

The August meeting features talks on two dynamic languages with much love for the functional programming paradigm. First off, Helena Converse will give a talk on Lua Programming in Minecraft (a game with 90’s-era graphics for a world where Touring machines can be built using rudimentary materials and programing cleverness).  Following that, we will have a talk on Functional CoffeeScript for WebUIs by Richard Feldman (originally delivered at this year’s LambdaJam conference).

The good people at Square will sponsor pizza.  There will be book give-aways, swag, and surprises.

If you can make it, bring a friend or (if possible) a canned good for donation to an area food shelter.  Doors open at 6 p.m.
