May: Haskell for Beginners + Macros in Common Lisp

Posted: April 29, 2014 by marioeaquino in Uncategorized

This coming Thursday, please come to Lambda Lounge to hear Aditya Siram present “Haskell for Beginners” (a bridge that shows how to re-use the familiar imperative idioms in Haskell so people can write working and safe code without having to ditch all of their existing experience). Also that night, Chris Gore will give a talk called Macros in Common Lisp. Ain’t no macro like the Common Lisp macro ’cause the Common Lisp macro don’t stop….

Sushi sponsored by Asynchrony. Feel free to bring a tasty beverage. As well, if you would like to bring a non-perishable food donation for Circle of Concern, it will be delivered the weekend after the meeting. Doors open at 6. Bring a friend. Don’t miss it!

April: Beyond Monads + ScalaCheck

Posted: April 1, 2014 by marioeaquino in Uncategorized

We have two notable speakers presenting: Jim Duey travels in from Kansas City to give a talk called “Beyond Monads” and Jessica Kerr will deliver a presentation on ScalaCheck. Both talks will be focused on Functional Programming topics, so I have asked Square to provide us with the most appropriate FP food: kolaches from the Kolache Factory.

If you would like to attend the meetup, please RSVP. Also, you are welcome to bring a(n adult) beverage of your choice. As well, if you would like to bring a non-perishable food donation for Circle of Concern, I will deliver it on the weekend after the meeting. Or bring a friend who has never attended Lambda Lounge. We have two great talks schedule, help us grow the group!

Doors open at 6. See you Thursday night.
